With driverBangkok is a timing game. From roughly 21:00 the traffic thins and the elevated expressways come into their own — long, lit ribbons of concrete over Sukhumvit and Rama IX with the skyline on both sides. This is when the city makes sense in a supercar. Daytime, honestly, it does not; plan your drives for nights and early weekend mornings.
Out of town, Motorway 7 runs arrow-straight to Pattaya in around 90 minutes — the default coastal run. For a proper driving road, head north-east to Khao Yai: around two and a half hours out, then cool hills, vineyards and sweeping curves along the national park fringe. Hua Hin, south via Rama II and Phetkasem Road, makes a comfortable overnight trip.
On documents: Thailand requires an International Driving Permit alongside your home licence for most visitors; ASEAN licences are accepted on their own. Keep both in the car with the rental papers — police checkpoints are routine, brief and unremarkable when your documents are in order. Thailand drives on the left.
Practicalities: cars carry an Easy Pass tag for the expressways, and we confirm the correct fuel grade at handover. Wet season, June to October, brings sudden standing water; give it ten minutes and the roads clear. Standard delivery covers Sukhumvit, Silom, Sathorn and the Riverside hotels. Our Bangkok team hands over in person, photographs the car with you, and stays one WhatsApp message away for the whole rental.
Do I need an International Driving Permit in Thailand?
Yes, for most visitors — an IDP carried alongside your home licence. ASEAN member state licences are accepted on their own. Checkpoints do ask, so keep both with the rental documents in the car.
Can I drive to Pattaya or Hua Hin?
Yes. Anywhere on the Thai mainland road network is within standard terms. Tell us your route so insurance and support details are set correctly; overnight trips are common.
When is the best time to drive in Bangkok?
After 21:00, and weekend mornings before 09:00. The elevated expressways are the city's best roads and are at their emptiest late at night.
What happens at a police checkpoint?
Present your licence, IDP and the rental documents kept in the car. Checks are routine and brief. If anything is unclear, call our Bangkok team from the checkpoint — that is what we are for.
Where do you deliver in Bangkok?
Sukhumvit, Silom, Sathorn and Riverside hotels as standard. Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang handovers by arrangement.

Our partner fleets vary by city and season, and the exact car, colour, trim and specification supplied are confirmed per booking with the supplying partner. Where a specific detail matters — a particular colour for a wedding, a specific model year or interior — tell us at enquiry and we will confirm it in writing before you commit.
